21st Milan Open | December 4–6
Milan holds a special place in the Italian backgammon landscape. It is home to one of the most prestigious and successful clubs in Italy—a true breeding ground for champions, many of whom will also be starring in this event.
Last year, the tournament took place in a prestigious venue in the heart of Milan, drawing an international field of players. This year, we are taking on a different challenge: rebuilding, with humility, dedication, and goodwill, the right conditions to ensure the continuity of an event that deserves a prominent place on the national calendar.
This will be the final tournament used to test the CNB app, which will become the official management tool for all our tournaments starting in 2027.
We invite all participants to register in advance using the dedicated form. Your cooperation will be essential to refining the system, allowing us to further test the app's functionality and make any necessary improvements.
Tournament Venue
So we start again from Sesto San Giovanni, at the Hotel Abacus—a property located just outside Milan, with the city center reachable in about 20 minutes by metro.
And the name of the hotel itself brings us a curious coincidence: Abacus is the English word for abaco, the ancient calculating tool consisting of beads sliding along rods or grooves. A name that, between numbers, calculations, and strategy, almost seems tailor-made to host a backgammon tournament!
It won't be a prestigious setting in the center of Milan that makes the difference, but rather the quality of the tournament, player participation, and the shared commitment to building something lasting together.
